The Secret of Doctor Grinberg returns to Mexico as part of the Official Selection at DocsMX Festival with cinema screenings and online streaming for Mexican audiences.
The Secret of Doctor Grinberg is top-billed in the Special Screening section of this year´s official selection which consists of 89 films, chosen from the 1436 received documentaries in the 2020 call. All the works can be viewed in Mexico from October 08 to 25 for free and on demand at www.docs-enlinea.com, except for the ones that are part of the non-competitive sections Mx Doctober and Docs 15 years, which will have on-site screenings.
Audience and critics alike were wowed by Ida Cuéllar’s feature debut produced by Polar Star Films and Primo. Comparisons to the X-Files abound and with several affirmations that ‘true life is stranger than fiction’ has put The Secret of Doctor Grinberg firmly in the true-crime and thriller category.
Considered by many to be the “Einstein of consciousness”, Grinberg took the study of psychophysiology beyond the limits of traditional science in his attempt to map the infinite potential of the human brain. Following the investigations of Chief Superintendent Clemente Padilla, this documentary reconstructs the surprising and real facts that lead up to the disappearance of Dr. Grinberg. An amazing journey through the exotic locations of Mexico, the United States, India, Nepal, Barcelona and Madrid.
