An extraordinary tale told in ordinary terms, My Name is Violeta reveals the story of an 11 year-old who has lived as girl since she was 6 years old.
Daughter of well-known adult movie stars Nacho Vidal and Franceska Jaimes, the film shows the fragile balance between acceptance and rejection transgender children have to live through.
The world premiere of My Name is Violeta at the 22nd edition of Málaga Film Festival, follow’s Polar Star Film’s success last year at the festival where feature film Facing the Wind won the Silver Jasmine Award for Best Spanish Film.
Beautifully shot and edited, this documentary film by David Fernández de Castro and Marc Parramon, interweaves Violeta’s story and home life with other characters to bring into focus the challenges that lie ahead in her transition to adulthood.
