Kasa Ramen, an Asian restaurant smack in the centre of Barcelona, recently commissioned the Polar Star Films team, together with communications agency Knock, to produce a videowall.
Fully integrated in the interior design of the restaurant, the slim, vertical screen forms part of the structure and visual distribution of the space itself. The images, inspired by the fresh, raw materials from the menu itself, are more akin to experimental films or video art.
The restaurant’s chefs were on hand for the shoot, showing off their talent for making gyozas and other delicacies. Thanks to the detail with which the images were recorded and ultra-slow-motion techniques, restaurant diners discover and are amazed by the pure dynamics of water and fire, both fundamental elements in the kitchen.
The results attract the attention of both customers and passers-by, and reflect the importance the establishment puts on the natural product. At just over 50 minutes long, it is a dynamic piece with zen and oriental touches, played in a loop. We encourage you to go check out both the food and the visual experience!
