IN BETWEEN, a feature debut directed by Ariadna Onofri and produced by Polar Star Films, has been awarded funding from L’Institut Català de les Empreses Culturals for the feature film production.

IN BETWEEN is the story of Mima, a young film director with a complicated family history.  She locks herself away with three actors in her family’s farmhouse in the middle of the idyllic Costa Brava to write a film script about herself and her parents. The rehearsals and improvisations will reveal the true but painful history of her family.

IN BETWEEN is metacinema, a fiction within another fiction. It is a game of mirrors that gives us back the truth or a great lie. The film, with some autobiographical features, intertwines the fictional story with real footage of the director, Ariadna Onofri.

The project received a fund for development of audio-visual projects from ICEC in 2019 and also participated in the 7th Project Mentoring of ALTERNATIVA.
