After the success of its world premiere at the Malaga Film Festival and director Meritxell Colell’s Silver Biznaga Award for Best Direction, feature film DÚO has been selected for the D’A Film Festival in Barcelona, held from April 28th to May 8th. The film will be screened on Friday 29th at 20:00h.

D’A Film Festival celebrates its 12th edition this year and will feature an international panorama of the best contemporary auteur cinema focused on creativity, personality and artistic freedom, whilst also giving a platform for emerging filmmaking talent.

DÚO follows protagonists Mónica and Colate who also featured in Collel’s debut film, Con el viento, as they journey through the villages of the Andres mountains on a dance tour. The couple must come to terms with growing distance between them, signaling the end of their 25 year partnership, a  process leading Mónica back to her origins – to her village in Spain and to her mother. Will Mónica find the strength to choose her own path? To love also means to know how to let go.

The theatrical release of DÚO is scheduled for September 2022 with a date being announced soon. DÚO is produced by Polar Star Films in co-production with Pennsylvania Films, Paraiso Production and Manufactura de Películas.
