The film about the controversial photographer Steve McCurry, worldwide known for his famous portrait of the Afghan girl with striking green eyes, is coming to theaters.
Steve McCurry and director Denis Delestrac will be in Madrid on Tuesday May 31st and in Barcelona on Thursday June 2nd to promote the film which goes on general release next week.

Screened at the 25th edition of Malaga Film Festival, DOC NYC, Glasgow Film Festival, DocLands Film Festival and soon to be shown at Shanghai Film Festival, amongst many others. Friday, June 3, sees the theatrical release in Spain of the documentary “McCurry: The Pursuit Of Color“, an intimate portrait of the renowned American photographer who throughout his career has overcome difficulties and loneliness to create some of the most iconic images of our time.
Produced by Polar Star Films and Intrépido Films “McCurry: The Pursuit Of Color ” introduces us to the controversial and iconic artist behind the famous photograph of the Afghan girl, an enigmatic and reserved person, dedicated for more than forty years to a profession that saw him in New York on September 11, in Berlin when the wall fell, in Kuwait during the Gulf war and in Afghanistan during the Soviet invasion.
Denis Delestrac, resident in Spain for many years, has directed and produced around twenty films and series for television on different topics of great international impact, with which he has won more than 40 awards around the world. His latest work is the unpublished portrait “ “McCurry, The Pursuit Of Color“.
SYNOPSIS: “McCurry: The Pursuit Of Color” is the first feature film to take an inside look at the life and work of photographer Steve McCurry, well known for his portrait of the Afghan girl on the cover of National Geographic magazine. The photographer, his family and friends bring to life the stories behind his most iconic photographs. With unique access to his creative process and previously unseen images, we discover his commitment to documenting what defines and unites human beings in their quest for color.
