Award-winning film Me llamo Violeta opens in cinema theatres across Germany today, coinciding with PRIDE and Christopher Street Day parades.
Through the stories of two very different families the film reflects the fragile balance between acceptance and rejection that transgender children face. Violeta, the 11 year-old daughter of well-known adult movie star Nacho Vidal is having a smooth ride for the moment. Quite the opposite to Alan, whose life ended in tragedy.
An antidote to ignorance. Shocking, emotional, human. Cinemanía
The film is full of moving and touching scenes. It gives a face to those who otherwise experience no representation. It gives courage: to children born in the wrong body, to their parents, to all who believe that each individual has the right to his or her very own thoughts and feelings. Kinofilmwelt
