After wowing audiences at festivals world-wide, Polar Star Films’ first fiction feature film Facing the Wind is now available
to stream online on Mujeres de cine in Spain and Amazon Prime Video in Spain, United Kingdom, Denmark, Norway, Finland and Sweden. The film premiered at the Berlinale 2018, where it captivated audiences and critics, and went on to be released in cinemas in November of the same year. Amongst the prizes awarded to Facing the Wind are the Silver Biznaga for Best Film at the Malaga Festival and the Talents Prize Special Mention at D’A Festival in Barcelona.
Now the film’s director, Meritxell Colell, has a new project underway, DUO, that will be in Cannes at Marché du Film this month thanks to the awards won by the project at the recent Málaga Film Festival, including the Malaga Goes to Cannes Prize and Abycine Lanza Award. In DUO, the dancers Mónica and Colate will have to learn how to say goodbye on their last tour, after 24 years of sharing a professional and personal life together. At an altitude of 4000 meters, the Andean desert test the limits of their relationship and their bodies, because sometimes loving means letting go.
Cannes’ Marché du Film, which celebrates its 60th anniversary, has become a benchmark and an obligatory meeting point for professionals in the film industry, giving producers the possibility to attend specific workshops and meetings for their projects.
