The Secret of Doctor Grinberg wins its third award for Best Film, this time the Antaviana Latitude Prize for Best Film in the in the Official Latitude Section, dedicated to the production of the Iberian Peninsula and Latin America. New project in development The Click Trap wins two Best Pitch Awards: the FipaDoc Award and the San Sebastian Lau Haizetara Co-production Forum Award.
The Latitude Section jury formed by Marc Serena, Pere Sallent and Sonia Herrera has awarded The Secret of Doctor Grinberg, by the filmmaker Ida Cuéllar, “for its magnificent directing and agile rhythm, and for its exciting story ”. Playing with true crime devices, the film portrays the figure of Dr. Jacobo Grinberg, and focuses on his mysterious disappearance without a trace in late 1994. Considered the Einstein of consciousness, a shaman by scientists and a scientist by shamans, the mexican Grinberg was an academic of the perception of other realities, linking mind and matter, and the cerebral interconnection between different subjects. In the film, the director constructs a hypnotic metaphysical thriller, following in the footsteps of the disappearance and setbacks the researchers encountered.
