After winning the JURY SPECIAL MENTION at Malaga Film Festival, documentary short When the Mountain Rumbles, directed by Alba Bresolí, will celebrate its international premiere at IndieLisboa Independent Film Festival.
It will compete in the International Competition Section of the festival that will be held from April 28 to May 8.
When the Mountain Rumbles, is a short film by the emerging Catalan filmmaker Alba Bresolí who, during a trip to Aragón, discovered a small town in ruins inhabited by three brothers: Evaristo, Félix and Baltasar Guallar. The recently graduated filmmaker decided to make a short film about the plight of the town of Escó and the three siblings.
Synopsis: In 1959, the residents of Escó were forced to abandon their homes when the village was expropriated under Franco’s regime in order to carry out the construction of the Yesa reservoir. The Guallar family refused to leave, and when the brothers were born, Escó was in ruins. Today, the three brothers are still in the village herding their sheep, but things are changing sooner than you think. Escó faces its second threat of disappearance: the construction of a motorway through the Pyrenees that will cross the town and that will end the self-imposed isolation of the brothers. Where will they go next and what will be their final destination?
