The Five Nordics is the umbrella organisation of the Danish Film Institute, the Finnish Film Foundation, the Icelandic Film Centre, the Norwegian Film Institute and the Swedish Film Institute. “We are excited and proud to present four projects by filmmakers who make highly professional documentaries with a great diversity of stories. All projects are in the final stages of production and will soon be ready for markets and festivals”.
Each project was presented on 17 May in the form of a pitch and a 10-minute excerpt from the initial edit, with the aim of capturing the attention of doc decision-makers, festival programmers and sales agents.
Cannes Docs 2024 offers an exclusive series of eight docs-in-progress showcases in the final stages of completion, with the aim of reaching the circuit in a few weeks or months. These showcases of in-progress documentaries are aimed primarily at documentary film professionals from around the world who are looking for new titles in the completion phase – in particular festival programmers and sales agents – but also at potential distribution, financing or post-production partners.
