This week sees the online premiere of The Crossroads of Chance a unique documentary film that gives insight into one of the greatest agricultural revolutions of modern times.
A film commissioned by Agromillora and conceptualized by Knock Brand Design, it narrates the shift in thinking, and practice, regarding olive tree growing. The 35-minute film tells the story from the beginnings when pioneers defied tradition, through scientific discoveries that faced opposition, and on to business visionaries who have implemented large-scale practices.
The film pays homage to the people across the globe who have revolutionized olive cultivation over the past 25 years and, in doing so, have changed the history of agriculture forever. Experts from scientific institutes such as IFAPA and the University of Bari debate the environmental impact, pioneers from the USA, France, Tunisia and Spain recall their first plantings, and large-scale producers such as Elaia in Portugal, Olisur in Chile and California Olive Ranch give testimony as to the results of the change in production.
A must viewing for economists and environmentalists, as well as documentary fans in general.
