The stars are aligned for us this autumn with a return to the big-screen and video-on-demand for several documentaries and fiction film productions by Polar Star Films.Time Thieves, Idrissa Chronicle of an Ordinary Death, My Name is Violeta & Facing the Wind will all be showing this autumn in a variety of national and international programmes.
Time Thieves kicks off on 14th October with a new season of Cine Lliure screenings in Barcelona libraries that runs until 26th November. Check out the Cine Lliure website for exact dates and locations of these free screenings.
Facing the Wind has been selected for the Mujeres de Cine online USA traveling film showcase dedicated to promoting Spanish films made by women. Organised by the Spanish Embassy in Washington, Facing the Wind inaugurates the programme and can be watched online free by RSVP from 16th to 23rd October. My Name is Violeta has a whole host of screenings coming up in Barcelona, Asturias and Berne, Switzerland. Pantalla Barcelona has screenings organised from 20th October through to 4th December at several community centres in the Catalan capital. AESEX in conjunction with Asturias Health Service have screenings programmed for November, and Queersicht Festival in Berne runs from 5th to 11th November. Idrissa, Chronicle of an Ordinary Death is next up available, from 22nd to 25th October 18h-18h, to screen free on Vimeo on Demand via a collaboration between Tarifa African Cinema Festival and Parets Town Council. Check out the FCAT website for the promotional code.
