Next month’s DocsBarcelona will host the World Premiere of Time Thieves, Polar Star Films’ latest documentary, a Spain-France co-production
for ARTE, RTVE & TVC, supported by MEDIA, CNC and ICEC.
Forget oil, water and rare earths. There is a new resource everyone wants: your time! Polar Star Films’ latest feature documentary by prize-winning director Cosima Dannoritzer is an eye-opening investigation into how time has come to equal money; why ‘time poverty’ is on the rise; and, how the more we try to save time, the less we have. The film reveals how businesses monetize our time without our knowledge and how the social networks have, in their own words, become ‘the new clockmakers’.
Remarkable film archive and heart-breaking stories are interlaced with testimony fromleading world experts in this documentary that was filmed on location in Japan, USA, France, Spain, Netherlands and Germany.
